ROSA GARCIA

Rosa Garcia, beloved mother, grandmother, companion and friend, passed away on April 2, 2024 at the age of 77. She passed away at her home in Miami, Florida with her family by her side. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Rosa had touched in some way throughout her life. The day of her passing, all her children and grandchildren were with her by her side. She knew her whole family surrounded her, which was her life. 

She was born in Havana, Cuba and came to the United States as a teenager. She dedicated her life to being a homemaker. She is survived by six children, Mark and his Wife Carol, Tony, Peter and his wife Erika, Lizzette, Rosy and her husband Claudio and Jessica; 19 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; her companion Jorge; and let’s not forget her fish. She was preceded in death by her son Junior. 

Rosa loved animals. During her life, she had countless dogs, birds, monkeys, ferrets, hamsters, turtles and fish. She loved being out in the street, eating and shopping. Her love language was gifts so she loved buying things for her family. She loved all things fast food. She would prefer anything to drink but water saying it tasted bad. 

Most of all she loved her family. She made sure that family would always get together. She always said that blood is thicker than water. She would call her children daily and just wanted to know what was going on in their life; even what they were doing or eating for the next meal. She loved being on her phone and talking to friends too. She had her Facebook and posted often. She loved giving greeting cards with her signature mark. She would put on lipstick, sign her name and then kiss the card on top of her name so the one receiving it would always have her kiss and know how much she loved them.

A prayer burial will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery followed by a reception in her home where friends and family can gather, eat, and have great conversations just as she loved. 

Rosa’s voice, love and kisses will always be felt. We know that she loved Jesus and that she is in Heaven for eternity with her son and those that went before her. No more suffering and no more pain. Rosa will be forever missed but always in our hearts.

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away”. Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said [a]to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
