The Life of Curtis Jon Bell, Sr.

On September 21st, 1958, in Miami, Florida, Charlie Lee, Sr. and Zepperine were blessed with their second son, Curtis Jon Bell, affectionately known to family and friends as “Captain Curt.”

Curtis grew up in Miami, Florida (Allapattah district) and gained his education in the Dade County School System, graduating from Miami Jackson High School. Curtis was always strong-willed and determined to learn all he could about anything that caught his interest. 

On March 26th, 1992, Curtis welcomed his only son, Curtis Jon Jr. in this world with Dannette Marlow, nevertheless, Curtis loved and raised Anthony Marlow and Synovia McPhee as his own. 

Curtis was a committed employee in every field he worked in, including as a chef in local Miami restaurants and most currently detailing cars at Miami International Airport. 

Curtis enjoyed fishing, loved sports, as he was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat and Miami Hurricanes. Most of all, Curtis loved spending quality time with his grandchildren and when they were in town, he devoted his time and attention to them all. 

On Monday, September 18th, 2023, our Almighty God dispatched His angels to escort Curtis Jon Bell Sr. into eternal rest. Curtis Jon Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Lee Sr. and Zepperine; his siblings: Charlie Lee Jr., Belinda Diane, Allen Wayne, and Charlie Charlie; nephew, Charlie Lee III, best friend Simmie Lee Offord aka “Needa-Boi”, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Curtis’s love for his family and friends will forever be imprinted on our hearts and minds. Curtis leaves to mourn his passing, yet cherish his memories: his beloved son, Curtis Jon Bell Jr. (Jasmine Peavy), bonus children Anthony and Synovia, sister: Joi (Jeremy Demps), brother: Adrian Bell (Britttany), cousin/brother for life: O.Z “Zeek” Davis, nephews: Melvin Brown and Josiah Demps, nieces: Charlene (John Atwell), Kadishea “Snook” Bell, CeeCee Bell, Bella Demps and Charleigh Bell, nine adoring grandchildren: Peyton Bell, Presence Bell, Curtis Jon Bell III, Janard “Tookie” Davis, Jakyra Davis, Danielle Marlow, Dustin Collins, Jonathan Collins, Curriyah Bell (Pre-Deseased) and Roger Stang, special great-niece: Lakatrianna “Puddin” Johnson, stepmother Sandra (FredLee Smith), loving aunt: Loretta Gordon, loving cousins: Frank Robinson, Tyrone McIntyre, Sr. and Gertie Keaton, and a host of other relatives and friends.
