VINTON SAMUEL BOYD

Vinton Samuel Boyd was born August 3, 1935 in Guys’ Hill, St. Catherine
Jamaica West Indies to Lillia Maud Cargill Boyd and Phillip Alexander
Boyd. Vinton, who was affectionately called daddy, Uncle V, Vin, Boydy,
Mr. Boyd, sadly passed away on Friday November 18, 2022. Vinton was
the 5 th of six children. He was proceeded in death by his brother Ronald
and sisters Herman and Hania.
Vinton was a very independent man. He thoroughly loved life. As a
young man he worked in the tourist area in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and
later worked for the Jamaican government in the prison system for
approximately ten years. In 1969 he migrated to New York where he
worked as a Longshoreman for approximately ten years and eventually
relocated to Miami, Fl, where he owned real estate and several small
businesses. In his later years he spent most of his time in both Miami
and Jamaica.
He leaves behind his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren,
brother Fitz Gerald, sister Ovis, a multitude of nieces and Nephews and
many friends. He will be sadly missed.
