Yves Petion, 76, of North Miami Beach, passed away peacefully at his home on June 5, 2024 after
courageously battling cancer. Born at Cabaret, Haiti, to late father Nelio Jean and late mother Adamise
Petion, Yves attended ‘Ecole Nationale de Manègue’ and the ‘ Lycee National de Cabaret’ for his primary
and secondary school respectively. In 1980, he decided to leave Haiti in search of a better life for himself
and his family. He lived in Miami until his death.
His last place of employment was at “Limousines of South Florida” where he worked for 15 plus years as
a Shuttle driver. Before joining “Limousines of South Florida”, he worked for “ Dollar Rent –a- Car” for
many years. Those two companies were probably the only ones he worked for all his life.
Yves was a devoted, respected, and loving husband, father, and grand-father. His love for family and
friends was unconditional. He always made room for new immigrants from Haiti in the process of
starting their new life in the USA. He was a member of SBNA Ministry located in Miami, Florida.
He is survived by his wife Marie L Petion; his children Marie Yolene Petion, Andy Petion; his brother
Willie Petion; his grand-children Jeremiah Chanel, Janirah Chanel; his sister Marie Claire Jean; his
cousins Gerard Moliere, Wilfrid Moliere,Marie Christian, Monique Surfadin, Dieula Sanon, Sonique
Sanon; his nephew and nieces William Petion, Ydelette Petion, Marie France Petion, Wiltes Petion,
Wilkenson Petion, Yvena Petion; his son-in-law Patrick Chanel; his sisters in law Jizette Saintil, Carline
Saintil, Yveline Dorcellus, Marie Rose Darcelin, Gertha Charles his brothers in law
came in contact Carlo Pierre, Gary
Pierre, Hubert Louis, and Falant Darcelin.
Yves Petion was loved by everyone who with him, and will certainly be missed by his
family, friends, and co-workers.
